I think it’s significantly an effect of who I engage with and who is trying out Mastodon. But I have 25k followers on Twitter and 700 on Mastodon and the post engagement rate is almost identical when I post the same thing.
Having been here since 2016, I can tell you there is definitely no such thing as a consensus on usage of content warnings on the fediverse. It's a decentralized network that doesn't belong to any one party, so by definition there is no single culture on it. Different corners have different expectations and customs.
It's a breath of fresh air how Mastodonians know the difference between "you're" and "your."

“We’ll see how long the positivity lingers, especially once the final tallies are made and if the hard slog of governing as a minority party becomes a reality. But for now, there are reasons for optimism.”

Reasons for Optimism

The Democrats may not hold onto Congress, but there was plenty of positivity this week nonetheless. Here's why.

What a lot of people don’t get about the blue check thing is who El*n is trying to cut down to size. He’s trying to discredit scholars, journalists and other people with expertise. He wants reality reduced to a sales pitch at all times. This is very fashy stuff y’all.

Dear Twitter ex-pats. When we all flounced out of Twitter loudly proclaiming we were going to Mastodon this sent a message to trolls, nazis that they could set up servers & come here.

If anyone gets harrassed with hatespeech pls note that that is not the culture of Mastodon. Please report & block those users. If you notice a pattern from the same weird domain, block that domain, write a post of the server name w/ a hashtag fediblock so your server admin can follow up & block it for everyone.

So, still trying to get used to this app. Mostly just finding and following, reading posts and trying to get a bit of a handle on the culture.

So...are CWs like a "bad form" thing to leave out, or is it a really huge dick move? My bird app experience focused largely on politics but I can see people here expect those posts to include content warnings, so it's a bit of a change to the rapid fire tweet/RT mode that I am accustomed to.

I tell you what, if this winds up being the last time I go viral on this app, dayenu

A virulent antisemite prayed & fasted for 40 days in the belief that God would hand him the victory he wanted in Pennsylvania, and God answered with a Jew.
