If we are to tackle the climate & nature crisis, we need a united labour union movement that prioritises life, health & long-term jobs.

XR Norway believes this type of labour union involvement in the oil lobby is shameful, irresponsible & harmful. The political influence that Konkraft exerts makes it impossible for Norway to fulfil the Paris Agreement & ensure a green, just transition.

We see this as an example of the state using the labour union movement to push oil workers in front of them as an excuse to extend the oil age.

Konkraft (https://www.konkraft.no/) is a collaboration platform between Norwegian oil & gas, shipping, employer organisations & the main labour unions including LO.

Fellesforbundet is a member of LO. They put pressure on LO & threaten to withdraw if LO does not agree to lobby in favour of continued oil exploration.
