I'm going to be at Nordic Game Conference in Malmö!
Even more exciting, I have a pre-recorded, online talk! 😱😄

Let me know if you will be there! I'd love to meet up with folks.

Anyway, these thoughts brought to you by Steam game sizes and archaic email file limits.
"How about a gig?" was just the most hysterical question. In theory it'd take like a day, but what would you do with it? It wouldn't fit on a hard drive!
YouTube didn't exist, so most folks probably weren't streaming video.... Maybe academic number crunching?
Trying to explain the speed of the internet and how drive space was in the 90s, and I feel like I'm explaining that fire was less hot.
I can download a 30MB file in 1 second now. In the 90s it took >30 minutes, and like 5% of a drive.
And I'm probably biased, as I had a good computer and fancy internet as a kid. The average was probably slower and smaller drives.
I'm a consultant, so if you need someone to help you improve/start on your DevOps and workflows, I'd be happy to help.
If you want a quick, free consultation on what areas you could improve in and how that could happen, contact me. No strings attached.

I came across this fantastic talk by Seth Coster from GDC 2020 over the weekend and it is an amazing presentation of why DevOps is so important to game dev.

It has such great examples of why this is such an important domain to me. Better games for less effort and without setting devs on fire. In an industry known for chewing people up, we need more DevOps.

One of the things I like most from "recent" Minecraft features are the banner patterns. I really wanted to do this when banners were first added! #Mystcraft 2 progress. :D
@GreyAlien Thanks! I'll play around with this tomorrow. 😁
@GreyAlien I don't recognize this, but am very interested. What is it? 😁
