Separated Bike Lanes Means Safer Streets, Study Says
Cities that build protected lanes for cyclists end up with safer roads for people on bikes and people in cars and on foot, a new study of 12 large metropolises revealed Wednesday.
According to local police, it’s expected for a vehicle to close pass cyclists when highways create advisory cycle lanes. Surely on that basis this one should be removed as it’s unsafe to have vehicles passing so close to unprotected cyclists. The road would be safer without it.
