help me understand this fediverse stuff
new thing people are talking about is misskey. Misskey is another fediverse...thing(i don't know the proper term so I will simply not use one).
fgc.network runs on soapbox. Both soapbox and misskey interact with mastodon and pleroma. Do they interact with each other?
One of the big changes in GBVSR is that the throw tech window is now massive, making them very, very bad as an offensive mix up tool.
This changes the basic offensive RPS which is something usually taken for granted in fighting games. Frame traps beat mashing, blocking beats frame traps, and throw beats blocking.
However, throw was made faster - so much faster that it's now faster than jabs, and throwing people out of startup removes the massive tech window entirely. Throw is now a defensive option, which is something that may be familiar to people coming from games like guilty gear that have fast throws.
Also worth noting is that throws still have hard knockdowns while EX moves don't, so punishing with a throw vs punishing with jab into special could open up interesting decision making options.
However, how does offense work without throws? A lot of people question this.
There are more high/low options than there were before, and they are faster. However, it's unclear how strong these options are currently. The speed, safety, and reward of these mixup tools can be adjusted.
I think the big issue is that the throw button is still there, so people fall into the habit of pressing it. Repurposing a nearly standard fighting game feature is weird because it goes against instincts. There's a lot to re-learn if this is how the game is going to be.
What you fail to understand is that this Ushiwakami is my character. I've mained this character ever since the arcade release of Fate: Unlimited Codes, though zoomers like you probably don't even know about that game. I'm the biggest Ushikawaru fan, if not the biggest Fate fan. I have every servant, yes EVERY servant, maxed out, on BOTH the JP and EN versions of Fate: Grand Order. It's safe to say that that when they decided to put Ushimakawaka in the game, they were thinking that dedicated fans such as myself would play her. And let me tell you, I will. I will download her as soon as she is released, lab her tirelessly with the devotion of a granblue player during Guild Wars, and sign up for every online and local tournament I can find, to prove not only my devotion to the character, but also to the game. None of you are prepared for what a hard-core Ushiwamakoto fan like myself can do when given direct control of all her movements and attacks. I will weave mixups the likes of which have never before been seen, I will perform combos that leave entire ballrooms echoing with thunderous applause, I will win prize pools of up to, if not more than, triple digits. When this character is released the only "top player" will be me, the biggest Ushikamone fan to have ever lived.
On the other social media site I make a lot of posts about my writing and I'm not sure how much of that I'd want to put here, given that it's all more public with other timelines.
