Cornell Law ‘14. Financial regulation, law, politics, България, and now featuring fatherhood. “why worry about something that isn’t going to happen?”
If you are pleased someone has been charged without knowing what the actual charges are, you’re indicting yourself.
Just kicked in on the @stux Patreon for a little more than Twitter blue would cost. Thank you for creating a space that I'm loving being in. Thanks to everyone tooting away this has become my safe place.
Two days ago, my daughter convinced me to agree to let her jump on me before bed, which led to her standing on my back, jumping, and then landing with her knee on my my head. It hurt, a lot. But it also demonstrated the stresses of the transit system
@KagroX I just don’t like calling them constitutional officers is all.
@KagroX the very fact that one of them is “by current practice” should be a clue that the offices are established by the House itself, not the Constitution.
@KagroX they’re whomever the House decides, because the offices aren’t established by the Constitution, unlike speaker.
@KagroX @Pwnallthethings every federal official takes the same oath, being elected by the body doesn’t make one a “constitutional officer”, that’s not what the term means.
@KagroX @Pwnallthethings a constitutional officer is one whose office is explicitly established by the Constitution, one one whose office is merely authorized. Every officer would be a constitutional officer if the latter were true.
@KagroX @Pwnallthethings wait, how is the clerk a constitutional officer? The position doesn’t appear once in the constitution.
@ramirof @Pwnallthethings it actually seems pretty straightforward, that office is vacant right now, a possibility explicitly considered by the Presidential Succession Act, so the president pro tempore of the senate would become president.
