The people of the Hawizeh marshes of southern Iraq have an ancient history living in the world’s most unique and biodiverse wetlands. The region has been reduced to near-desert as a result of the climate crisis, devastated by drought and man-made dams. Thousands of families are having to leave.
Maybe instead of kicking grandma into the streets the GOP should help fix this. High earners and the wealthy stop paying into Social Security after reaching the FICA cap but can still collect. On February 7th, there will be 3 special elections to fill the seats vacant from the election of Austin Davis to Lt, Governor, Summer Lee to the U.S. House, and from the unfortunate passing of Mike DeLuca.
The balance of power in the state House of Representatives will be determined by voters in three districts in the eastern part of the county: the 32nd, the 34th, and the 35th. Democrats need to win all three in order to solidify control of the House and keep Republicans from undermining the legislative process by passing bad constitutional amendments, which bypass the Governor.
Things on the PA Republican agenda include anti-abortion rights legislation and other right wing agenda items.
