@Uilebheist @cstross And that’s why your smart lightbulb is running a full `mongodb` instance. Except that the instance is 4 versions behind and there’s no upgrade path.

The good news is that if you have 3 or more lightbulbs, they actually run as a complete Mongo cluster (*), with eventual consistency guaranteed. You may observe some flickering while data changes propagate.

(*) If all 3 are turned on at the same time. If any are turned off, your home network fills up with warning messages.

A friend just texted asking to borrow a black mask to cover her white N95 for a funeral. (I were black KN95s, so she knew I had something black.)

I made her a sampler pack of 2 styles of KN95, some black paper masks, and a black fabric mask with a corporate logo on one side, given away at work when masking was required on site.

We are planning a small bachelorette party Friday, in a private home,because the guest of honor is immunocompromised.
I was the nerd who said “we’re all testing on Friday, right? I have extra tests if anyone needs one.”

We’re all testing.
Because the bride is an extrovert, but she’s immunocompromised.

I thought I was having a bad day having to schedule euthanasia for a pet. When we got to the vet, we were one od 3 euthanasias scheduled at 2:30. I wonder if Mondays are always like that at vet offices that close on Sundays?

Called and made the appointment for a cat’s Last Trip to the Vet.
This is the 5th time in 10 years. 2 we waited too long, 2 were sudden crises. This is the first time we’re agonizing over whether it’s too soon. It’s inoperable cancer, so it’s a matter of when.

A friend asked tonight “which Agatha Christie novel are they referring to? I can’t figure it out.”
It was obviously #RogerAckroyd and omgomgomg. If you know who Poirot is and you’ve read/watched a few of his mysteries, but don’t know why there was controversy when The Murder of Roger Ackroyd was first released….go read it.
