@DecaturNature @clacke I'm interested in receiving some awareness, where can I find you at Atlanta streets alive?
@notjustbikes @lapingvino I've gotten roughly to the next level of,
"Are you saying you'd want NJB to rip up the highways and lower traffic volume from the suburbs into [your American city]?"
"Of course not! People bought those houses knowing they'd be able to drive"
@mekkaokereke And instead of figuring out how to efficiently build new housing where residents wouldn't have to own a car, we see WeWork and SV dreams of building a brand new city in the desert.

Sales prices of new cars are not a good explanation for why EV market share is so low in America, because Americans are buying expensive ICE vehicles.
The economics are even less of an excuse in terms of the all-in cost, including fuel and maintenance.

Unfortunately Americans are carbrains incapable of acknowledging any of the harms of their lifestyle choices, especially the rich ones who are buying new vehicles.

@atlgaytheist isn't bond a decision for prosecutors?

Not defending the sheriff, agreed with your gist

@mbonsma You're right. And even if somebody else somehow thinks EVs are clean but still acknowledges the climate crisis, then getting rid of currently existing ICE and stopping production of new ones still requires rapidly reducing car use.
Everyone except climate deniers should be trying to transition society away from cars.

@notjustbikes it was interesting hearing from the future
@notjustbikes I want to get cars out of cities, not automate them, this ep was confusing on the prioritization. Yes, probably pedestrians will get new legal restrictions to stop them from hassling robotaxis, which is bad. And drivers will probably see higher legal liabilities earlier, because their current habits are both a physical threat to robotaxis and also competition. Drivers are the enemy threatening me today, and they're threatened by robotaxis - idg the big tent camaraderie
