She/her

Anna here. Texan living in Canada. I make music with my husband under the name ABNA BON.

Interested in music, music production, audio engineering, literature, philosophy, art, politics, spirituality, history...most of all I'm here hoping to find a positive space on the internet to connect with like (and unlike) minds.

The #hegetsus ad:

With I/O, PG is proving he has not only not lost his creative edge; he still knows how to deliver a wildly fun experience to his fans. I can’t remember the last time I was so hyped, so utterly ON BOARD for an album release.

I/O will have spoiled me completely by the end of this run. From now on I’m gonna want every song that I know and love to come with alternate versions.

“Shoot-out” not being quite the term here - each interpretation (one by Tchad Blake and one by Mark “Spike” Stent) is a master class in creative excellence. What an absolute TREAT to have them both to take in. I can’t believe we’re getting two of these for each song!

*pause for fervid swooning

I entreat you to get yourself the best audio set up that you can and devote some time to take in these tracks. They deserve no less.

Whiling away a Saturday afternoon, geeking out over the two(!!) mixes of Peter Gabriel's latest. It’s not the Big Room - one can dream - but alas.

You just know we had to get the high res tracks, load them into the DAW, put them through a proper set of monitors, and shoot them out.

Uggh. LOVE 👏 the 👏 new 👏 Peter 👏 Gabriel 👏 single. And that's not my own confirmation bias talking. So many legacy acts spend their twilight years riding the nostalgia train or churning out mediocre sludge while PG is out here making fresh, awesome work in his fifth(!?) decade of his career. So, so looking forward to hearing the rest of the new material.

"Every Face a Stranger" by ABNA BON

https://youtu.be/6YZLF7q0IZQ

A piece of music dealing with themes of dementia.

The guitar and vocals that carry the main melodies are intentionally a bit disarranged; an attempt to evoke the confusion and dislocation brought on by the disease (for all involved).

Yet the overall tone remains bright and hopeful, to honor the love and the familial bonds that can never be diminished despite the ravages of disease.
