I've been working with the VCF variant file format. Ok, so it's a tab separated file with headers pre-defined for the first columns. Then a key=value section with column names listed at the beginning of the file. Weird but extensible so no problem.
Now I see a bunch of | symbols. Inside the key=value section, someone decided a different format was needed and now more headers are defined inside the Info header and values are delimited by | ?
WHO THE HELL CREATED THIS FILE FORMAT?
