After a little more than an year searching for a new home, the community bike shop and hub for bike maintenance education re-opens in Eckington today.

Heads up, due to last night's plane crash, the Frederick Douglass Bridge, Hains Point, parts of the Mount Vernon Trail are closed to bike and pedestrian traffic. We haven't confirmed that the 14th Street Bridge is closed but we would not recommend relying on it.

WABA, Howard University, and the Safe Routes Partnership collaborated to create a reporting and tracking tool for people in the Washington region to report near-misses, crashes, and road use violations. The goal is to make our roads safer.

Are you (or do you know someone who is) between the ages of 12-18, and like biking in Washington, DC? Want to learn more about group biking (a “bike bus”) on DC’s street and trails? This Saturday 5/18, join WABA for a PAID(!!!) 7.5 mile group ride. You do not need to consider yourself a “cyclist” to participate, but participants should be able to ride a bike for 30 minutes at a time.
