You know, what I said was largely right but reading a few articles about the changes makes it apparent that your interpretation is also right.

In Dec. 2025, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent nixxed some of the quarter designs that were approved by then-Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen during the Biden Administration for focusing “on DEI and Critical Race Theory policies.” One of the coins featured a line of people with arms linked, in between the words “We shall overcome.”

At the time, U.S. Treasurer Brandon Beach said the coinage design is supposed to “celebrate American history and the founding of our great nation,” but that imagery was scrapped because “the Biden Administration and Secretary Yellen remained focused on DEI and Critical Race Theory policies.”

“The Trump Administration is dedicated to fostering prosperity and patriotism. We have no doubt these new designs will be wildly popular with the American people

Scott Bessent canceled commemorative quarter designs from the Biden administration that focused on breaking chains and suffrage rather than featuring any Founding Fathers.

I’ve seen others suggest that this is commemorative of the revolutionary war. This year is the 250th anniversary of the United States. The lack of an olive leaf was said to signify our unwillingness to compromise with England.
If the pictures are right, they part their hair on the opposite side. So, which is the evil one? Right part or left?
Now, get some electrical tape and tape up those connections nice and thick so they’re safe.
It would be great if the media could quit trying to push Newsom down our throats, too. He’s not the absolute worst but I don’t want him as president. How about we quit calling him the “front runner” until we’ve seen who else might want the job?
I’ll offer one, then. As a Coloradan, I’d vote for Joe Neguse.

I want the democrats to put forward a good slate of candidates, have them discuss issues in a reasonable and informative way, then have us vote on our favorite. There are people whose jobs are to know who would make a good candidate. Most people, myself included, don’t have enough information to say who should run. I do think that most people can name a few who they don’t want to run and I think Kamala and Hilary are both high on most people’s lists.

Someone saying “please don’t run Kamala” shouldn’t mean they need to offer an alternative. That is the job of the democratic party.

Just so you know, there are a lot of allies out here rooting for you, too, even among white cis het men like me. Unfortunately, hate is winning the day right now but, here’s hoping weanage to stave off fascism.
Okay, seriously, can he do one thing that isn’t objectively evil?
  • A quick search brings up nothing with ICE and “warheads” so it doesn’t appear to be “widely reported”.
  • I didn’t say that the article is making unsubstantiated claims. I said that you are. The article is substantiated, it just isn’t all that surprising that ICE is spending more on weaponry as they hire more agents.
  • The story says nothing about slush funds or anything beyond ICE spending more on weaponry.
  • You are posting in a public forum. That is explicitly asking for conversation and feedback, even if you didn’t directly ask me for mine. If you don’t want people to respond, don’t post.
