Okay, I've gone and had a peek and I think I'm going to try tootplanet.space for a bit. Small number of users (who apparently make up a large portion of people I already love following?)

Also, the UI is cute as all heck

@fhemberger I've seen people do that pretty successfully. I guess if you're in a lot of smaller instances, each timeline won't be as big? I think I'm probably too attached to having a main account to deal with multiple accounts myself, though.

@fhemberger Essentially, yes. I've been on mastodon.social for months because I have wide interests and also I really struggle with change, but I'd like to be able to interact with people on the local timeline a little more easily.
