Not exactly a board game, but when we play Munchkin we have a house rule that says you can pick a door card OR a treasure card when you loot the room, instead of just a door card. Helps get more gear into the game early on and makes things go off the rails faster.

Most people enjoy Chars Counterattack, and The 08th MS Team. Child soldiers is a recurring theme in Gundam. Gundam Wing has an ongoing plot thread where the main character learns to stop being just a weapon. Gundam SEED deals with 2 college students becoming Gundam pilots on the opposite sides of the war and dealing with the horrors of war, the loss of friends, and coming to terms with killing.

Take Me To The Dungeon! is a pretty decent rougelite deck-builder/card battler. Sakura Dungeon is a surprisingly good old school dungeon crawler/monster catcher. If you took the nudity out of either game they would still be good games.
