I’ve been in a weird place the last year or so. I turn 50 this year, I moved back home to take care of my parents after 30 years of living around the world. The disconcerting part is when I left this area I drove a modified blue Volkswagen Jetta, the stores played contemporary music of the mid 90’s. I’m now back, I drive a blue VW and the store play oldies which means mid 90’s rock. I go into stores I used to go into driving the same type of car and hear the same type of music.

I'll elaborate. I believe we're in an AI bubble. AI companies are pushing the overton window on AI discourse. They want the most extreme anti-AI sentiment to be "Sure, it's an overhyped technology right now but there will be reasonable applications down the road". I want to see pushback on this. It doesn't matter if I can disable some AI feature in the settings. The fact that Mozilla is jumping on this bandwagon is deeply disappointing to me.

LibreWolfAs there seems to have been recent confusion about this, just a quick "official" toot to then pin: we haven't and won't support "generative AI" related stuff in LibreWolf. If you see some features like that (like Perplexity search recently, or the link preview feature now) it is solely because it "slipped through". As soon as we become aware of something like this / it gets reported to us, we will remove/disable it ASAP.
