Good news, everyone! We are working on cool new features for the VM-1. Currently we‘re testing different webcams and other USB capture devices.

@txo_elurmaluta Thanks for your extensive testing. We’ll try to get our hands on a Canon device and investigate. We’ll keep you posted.
@txo_elurmaluta Did you try to set the FPS to 30 and Resolution to 1080p in the recording settings? HDMI output will match that on most cameras.

@txo_elurmaluta Can you try your MacBook with 1080p30 in the display settings? Just to make sure it works in general.
@txo_elurmaluta If it’s a wrong FPS it would show “FPS mismatch”. Are you sure you are outputting 1920x1080. You could connect the Cam to your desktop screen and double check the resolution.
@txo_elurmaluta Good. So it isn't the cable. At the moment we only support HDMI sources with 1080p30. But most cameras match the HDMI output to the recording settings. Can you set that to 1080p30?
@txo_elurmaluta Cool! That looks great. 🤩 Regarding your HDMI input issue: What CSI-cable are you using? Unfortunately we had the wrong cable on our BOM at release. It was a DISPLAY cable instead of a CAMERA cable. Can you send a picture without the top cover, so we can see the cable?

@TinaStormcaller

Hey Tina!

Yes, the 'VM-1 Pro' will be based on the Raspberry Pi I/O board.
The image is the same for both versions of the VM-1, but for the initial release we focused on the 'Basic' version.

We are considering ordering some "VM-1 Pro" control boards to sell to the community, but no decisions have been made yet. We will share more information on this later this year.

Thanks for suggesting CopyParty! It looks like a great addition to LocalSend - we'll take a look at it! ♥︎

If you want to dive into it, you can find detailed assembly instructions here:

Let us know if you plan to build a VM-1 ♥︎!
