Don't miss the MPR interview with @ThisIsMarlena on her stunning Dakota Land Maps. A beautiful example of fusing art with spatial thinking, the maps "connect the present in the past" for the Dakota people in Minnesota. https://www.mprnews.org/episode/2023/03/02/telling-the-past-and-present-of-the-dakota-people-through-maps

The U.S. annulled its treaties with the Dakota. If you look at a map of Minnesota today, this story is right there.

Loss of winter isn't just a story about❄️. It is about our health, traditions, food, family & community. This story expanded my own community & strengthened my resolve to act. We are all part of the solution. A dip in a frozen lake brought that into even greater focus for me. https://twitter.com/DavidSchechter/status/1628076387394326530
