I'm older and a bit slow on the uptake, so I don't understand a lot of things.
Because such an unpleasant, dishonest, disrespectful, undignified, and dishonorable little brat thinks he's something (which is actually impossible), a huge fuss is made.
All that's left to do is say NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT, slap the jerk on the wrist, and that's it. No more talking! And certainly no one's flying to meet him; if anything, he should come crawling back and get rejected again.

I'm looking forward to another buddy night with you next week, burgers and Diet Coke. We'll write some more malicious truths and incite all the MAGA fans to do unbelievable things. It's amazing how mindless they are, and impressive how you've got them wrapped around your little finger.

At the front you can then "officially" place any gold trinkets, and if you want to look at the trophy, you just need to turn the floor and - voila - the trophy is visible!
That should be satisfactory for you too, and then we can continue as planned with the venues and the entire World Cup schedule.

BUT: I'll bring you the trophy and medal back next week, but only unofficially. Please don't display it like all your other trophies, awards, and prizes—or like your other beautiful gold treasures. We'll provide you with a special marble cabinet with gold fittings and a gold interior, and—importantly—a rotating back panel with space for the trophy and medal.
