💯. I’ve been saying this all along.

Focusing on a mayor won’t get us there. The mayor is a reflection of our culture.

Instead, try to shift this climate. It’s been done with other issues; it’s not impossible.

@scott what more can you ask for? More of this!!

Our obsession with the fast movement and storage of cars on our public streets is killing our parents, our children, our neighbors.

Now is the time to pedestrianize Valencia Street.

A good way to think of driving, with regards to climate change, is as a limited resource. For now, we need trucks to carry food and other goods, cars to get around rural areas, and other specialized tasks. But these important tasks are put at risk by a society that is built to make wasteful driving mandatory, using up our carbon budget faster. The fact that driving is needed in some cases makes it all the more critical that we move away from cars, rather than an excuse for the status quo.
Join us tomorrow to learn more about the Active Communities Plan and to discuss infrastructure needed to make the streets in the Oceanview, Merced Heights and Ingleside safer and welcoming to people who would like to bike, roll, skate or scoot.
@sf_ish @scott - Many SF leaders and journalists are failing when it comes to understanding the need for human-centered infrastructure. 😢

Every child in San Francisco should feel free to hop on a bike.
