I left Facebook because I was just using the chat function. I forgot that it had too much other data on me. Data in the vault that did turn out to be a liability.
Then the same with Google. Again I acted *after* it became a problem. Twitter's collection of metadata on me was smaller, but that problem solved itself.
I still use an android phone, but it's hooked up to a dummy Google account with tracking disabled. This may be overkill. YouTube is hooked into that account too.
I have now largely moved away from Google's search engine. I'm used to it now, the slower response time and the different feel you get from queries. This is what it used to be like, what I'm returning to now.

YouTuber Stephanie Sterling has this character that acts out found 'weird internet' posts made by white cishet males that take themselves waaaay too seriously.
These guys don't always align with extremism and, through use of language, crypto-fascism, but they do so often enough that I don't really dare to take any chances with them.
I came across one and... well. How messed do you have to be to write like this? 🤦
Some things I just can't comprehend about myself. Like why did I wait until this year, this month to watch From Up On Poppy Hill? I have no idea why it had to wait so long. No excuse.
I'm glad that I did though. And that I was able to share the experience with others. #ghibli
