There are homeless people in my neighborhood waiting for housing.
There are many empty storefronts in my neighborhood.
Should we stop waiting for elaborate housing projects and just turn a few empty stores into small, clean and safe emergency shelters?
This seems like a lot more feasible, fast and direct than, like, retrofitting 12 story office towers to mixed-income residential but I haven't heard anyone talk about it.
