Imagine you and your Republican coworkers went out to a restaurant for lunch, ordered from the menu (you had the soup dejour, they had the most expensive lobster on the menu), and ate your meals. When the check comes, Republicans say they refuse to pay (for the meals they’ve already eaten!), UNLESS everyone agrees to starve the homeless and rob the poor the next time you eat here. That’s what’s happening.
Republicans do not support troops or life. They support trauma and submission. Veterans are promised services for their commitment. Republicans try to negate those services. #terroristrepublicans
2012! That is when it started. In 2012, Obama won a second term. Minority births exceeded white births. People were thrilled with Obama and his use of the government to get us out of the recession. Hip hop was popular; younger people sympathized about the death of Travon Martin; DACA was passed. Unfortunately, due to these factors, there was an "us vs. them" dynamic that Trump capitalized on in the 2016 election. People felt like they were losing something and that Trump would bring it back.
I think both the Republican party and Democratic party have failed us terribly.

Not a lot of paths out of this mess for the GOP. If they want to win they have to abandon their base. Because conservatives are “resistant to change.” They don’t want to change.
