One more trip out east where I can sit and watch as my planet turns me through the Milky Way.

Western wood pewees are one of the most common birds I hear but usually don’t see. I’ve heard this birds or others in the same spot for years but didn’t get a look or a photo until this one decided to pose for a shot recently.

Had the best encounter with a Great gray owl and her owlets that I’ve ever had yesterday. Still pinching myself.

I love to watch birds taking bird baths. It’s among the cutest things nature gives us. Getting to see a Western tanager drop down and take a bath in my parents’ fountain tonight was one of my favorites things.

Getting to see the Northern Lights from my home in Oregon is one of the most special things I have experienced.
