This beautiful, pristine feline specimen is my buddy of 17 years, Pickles, though I refer to him as Juice or Juicy.
He is something else, and I feel so unbelievably blessed to have had his companionship for so long.
Juicy has mouth cancer. He was diagnosed in October. Because of his age and the limited scope of reliable treatment, I decided not to subject him to being poked, prodded or carried off the vet every few weeks. He will live out his remaining days at home in peace.

My selection for Tune Tuesday is Enslaved's 'Death in the Eyes of Dawn' from their incredible album "Riitiir."
Hailing from Sweden, Enslaved are masters at creating richly textured, densely layered progressive hard rock and metal, with traditional black metal and folk elements. Their melodies are beautiful, too, something many Scandinavian bands seem to have in common.
I highly recommend all of their work.
