People use Duolingo because it isn’t an annoying experience, and they don’t have to take it seriously. Not everyone is learning a language for the same reasons.
It is a game, and that is why people use it. They don’t want to be annoyed learning, and it’s just for fun. You seem to think that everyone should do things for the same reason.

I take umbrage with the predication upon a “leftist” set of principles as I would contend that creates a division at the precipice and denies a shared conclusion drawn upon all parties.
I think I don’t appreciate pridefulness and the implicit arrogance of people who are overly positive about doing things that are mundane or expected. I might just also be an asshole.
I always reflect on the French, and the retribution they inflicted on thousands of Germans when they were liberated. Eventually the French government had to step in, because the revenge was getting a bit out of hand perhaps.
