@pyutaros a fundamental change towards a service like this is a long way off. The very things that drew me from the bird site, such as nonprofit, are an anathema to many.
And that's fine, each to their own. I can wait for the bird site to implode or collapse like a flan in a cupboard (or the Austro-Hungarian empire), which it will under the current situation.
But you know what I really like about this platform?

@StevenBeschloss people say British and American politics are different but not really. Our right wing media spits vitriol, we have a "choice" between Conservative or Conservative light and while some politicians become increasingly and openly corrupt, the other side only talk or working with them to moderate their damage as opposed to reversing it (a la brexit).
I used to have a lot of pride in my system, but it is a bloody dumpster fire 🔥

@auschwitzmuseum I saw a news story about an Italian senator who also survived that and her fight against death threats and racist hate attacks. Its horrific how anyone can be treated that way even if they didn't have to go through so much.
