Can these things hit 100 or 1000 swarming micro drones? I really don’t know, but would bet that it’s got a limited amount of tracking and fire-rate. At say $1000 per drone including a couple pounds of high explosive charge, I doubt a single one of these can guard any zone.
The panels are cheap. The interconnect isn’t too bad and the controller is another chunk, but it’s the install that keeps me from a cheap DIY. I really don’t want to mess up my roof.
It’ll take a crazy number as a pipeline would be easily damaged by a VERY small (consumer size) drone.
I’ve sold a half dozen small to midsize KVM systems. IP gives a lot of flexibility for deployment that “traditional” systems don’t, and can be done a lot cheaper as the switches can be much less than the “big iron” requirements for traditional systems.
Sneakers is a lot of fun, but there’s one scene that just irks me. In the beginning of the film, the main character is picking up a check from a bank teller after their “white hat” elite team stole (then returned) untold millions from the same bank. The teller cuts him a check and asks what he does. He gives a short explanation and he says “it’s a living”. She looks at the check and back at him saying “not a very good one”. It’s clear that she’s a low level employee and there were 4 or 5 people on the crew, and she’d have no idea how much work went into the job. Even at minimum wage, it would have been a pretty nice paycheck and she would have had no idea whether it was a good amount, nor whether it was just one guy getting paid the amount on the check. The comment makes no sense.

Consulting and Project management are ripe for AI disruption. No way will they be eliminated, but an AI camera tracking the blue collar workers plus a “manager” who is just a data entry clerk, especially when combined with other data sources will remove a massive amount of managing a project.

Consultants and Sales to a large degree are just about listening to clients whine about something and repeating back to management (in a different voice) the same things that their own staff is saying. LLMs are good at being that different voice.

Correct, we don’t need Doctors for every scrape in the exact same way that I can explain a social situation to a LLM and it can help by referencing back to published literature on that particular topic, suggesting clear guidelines as to how to move forward. Sure there are also broken arms and cancer exists, but the base level (and moving up the chain) is absolutely coming for Psych work.
It wouldn’t have to run at full power all the time, just when actively defending against a drone. There are lots of other harder to solve issues.

I played a brass instrument for 9 years and was good enough that I could’ve probably made a career of it, but it’d have been a struggle for sure.

I’ve dabbled in guitar for close to 30 years now and highly suggest that it’s a better instrument, especially for solo play than anything that is going to make single tones. Chords of any type allow for much richer music when you’re alone.

I did have a parent that made me take a year of piano lessons as my first instrument, but I quit that for the brass. I do wish I had kept after piano/keyboard as it’s much more versatile.

Really it depends on if the brain worm is taking a nap. It’s hard work to run a whole ass human.

Please note that you can place the hypehen before or after ass as you please.
