Larkspur
This debris dam is built in the upper Caliente creek. Built after the coyote fire to slow sediment, rocks and wood from being pushed into lower reservoirs along the Santa Ynez river. Now it is completely full of soil and sediment, with cottonwoods growing apon the elevation of the top of the dam. It leaves the steelhead with an impossible barricade, blocking them to their traditional pools and creating harder access for the beaver to pass freely.
