Time for a proper introduction. I am a literature teacher, mostly retired. I love reading, music, baking, nature & cats. I am learning to boost a lot, which includes my passion for a truly inclusive world, so lots of support for Black, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, Women, Working Class, & other rights. I understand users who want Mastodon to be a quiet corner, but I am more concerned about what happens if we look the other way when people suffer.

There's this phrase that keeps popping up for me lately, so much that I've completely lost count. It goes like "Trump [did something monstrous] using a program that was created under Obama and expanded under Biden." Over and over and over again.

@gwynnion And, perhaps, actually prosecuting Trump and the other J6 ringleaders and jailing them, instead of investigation cosplay. And I don’t mean Smith, who was trying to do a job his and his boss’s boss and the money behind them would never let him do. The presence of the tech boys at the Trump coronation and the deep involvement of Google, Meta, Microsoft in Biden’s role in Gaza should help to connect a few dots.

"People should have voted for Democrats."

Maybe Democrats should have campaigned on something OTHER than being anti-immigration, pro-cop, pro-genocide, and having "the deadliest military on earth," making it hard to distinguish them from Republicans.

This week i had a couple of conversations about #Gaza with well-meaning, nice people in which it transpired that they still knew virtually nothing about things that happened before Oct 7.

This factsheet, by the Independent Jewish Voice of Canada, gives a really good overview.

Let’s keep on sharing and informing others. So many here in Europe continue to know very little.
