Furry is a very sexually open community and I think that’s a very good and liberating thing but we HAVE to acknowledge that attracts predators who view it as easy hunting.
We’ll never be able to totally eliminate that, but we can damn sure do a better job of talking about it and addressing that reality.

It’s not something I really talk about but as someone who A) was roofied at MFF years ago and B) has been sexually assaulted and raped in this fandom
Not everyone in this fandom is a big happy family and we can’t ignore that and have to confront that reality. This isn’t something to be ignored
It’s really hard to speak up about this if it happens to you, trust me I know and I didn’t when I should have either.
But this community IS mostly good and we’ll support you if you’ve been a victim.
