@stroughtonsmith I’m not sure he gets it was illegal state aid (under EU rules) that Ireland gave Apple via a ridiculously low tax rate to get them to funnel their money through Ireland rather than paying tax through the countries where the sales were made. That means every other country lost out because of this tax scheme. I suspect if someone else was stealing money from the US tax take he’d be pretty pissed.
@gruber @adamfishercox I really think you have the blinkers on here. We two phone OS’s largely due to network effects and the need for a large enough market for there to be apps - there isn’t real competition it’s an oligopoly or duopoly - this is when governments step in to ensure there are no restraints on competition in this case in the App market.
@gruber At the moment it doesn’t exist due to apples policies and if does you and I won’t get it because we don’t live in the EU but if it ever happens then people should have the choice to download it and make their own mistakes just like they do now with the Mac and Android.
@daringfireball It’s called choice John, if you don’t want the shitty version of Chrome don’t download it. History shows that Apple has favoured its own products to the detriment of consumers and competitors - the new Microsoft?
@daringfireball who says Chrome should continue to exist unless it has a business plan better than being an arm of Google. Those ad fees would be cost off.

@jknlsn bought the app but it would be so much more useful if you added the ability to use our own card images.
It’s just not practical to email you every time there is one missing as you only cover the US as far as I can see.
