Deathstroke #14 – Twilight, part 3

May 2017 8th March 2017Deathstroke #14Twilight, part 3 Let's start with the basics. Not really being big into comics back in the 80s, I never read his origins in the Teen Titans. So my first encounter with Slade "Deathstroke the Terminator" Wilson was in the Teen Titans cartoon. And what a better introduction than the dulcet tones of Ron Perlman!

Rebirth

Rebirth is a strange thing!* The New 52 was, in and of itself, not a terrible idea, a complete reboot to allow new tales with new versions of the same characters. The success of Marvel's Ultimate Universe and DC's Absolute shows just that. The problem was that it was rushed, and no plans were made as to how the new universe works, what was to be kept and what was completely new.

Welcome (belatedly) to 2025…

... It's 22nd November 1940 and All-Star Comics #3 introduced the Justice Society of America... ...It's 9th October 1975 and All-Star Comics #58 introduces us to Power Girl... ...It's also the 25th March 2019 and little old me is doubting that I'll reach the six years necessary to reach this landmark! Last year wasn't the best for postage and I needed to take a step back to think about what I wanted to do with this blog.

Let’s talk about the Baby – Prologue

What's better for this spooky month than to deal with a little body horror! Time to deal with that storyline, the one where a blonde powerhouse of a hero becomes pregnant with a mystery baby. As this is a Power Girl blog it's not Avengers #200, but from a complicated series of events, that started in Justice League Europe #51.

I MUST BE GOING, PART TWO WORLDS' FINEST #24 Introduction Comics need more goofy superheroics! Personally, I feel that sometimes the desire to be more grounded and realistic denies the fun that comics can be.
