Fun fact: The 10 Commandments, which predate Isaiah, had a bit of wiggle room. When you're starting a new religion, you don't want to piss off new recruits. 'Have no god BEFORE me', is implicitly saying, "just make sure I'm #1". You can hang on to yoour old gods. Later on, they got cocky; it was" my way or the highway.

Over the years, the right has continually stunned me with their behavior, but the villification of Fauci was, and will always be, incomprehensible to me.

Maybe 40 years ago, I was walking down 2nd avenue with a dear friend, when he told me about a new thing I had to try. He called it 'smoking cocaine,' which you porbably know, was later marketed as 'crack'. He said it was 'incredible' and I had to try it. I said, "I better not. What if I really love it?" He died 15 years ago, way too young, from an overdose.
Maybe the best decision I ever made.
