PhotosPhotos are #AsWas = NO AI, NO photoshop, just as was when I took them.
ContentAny AI content that I may post (not likely - but just in case) will be clearly labelled as such. This includes photos, art etc.
InteractionAll my postings are meant to be fluid expressions of a temporary status, as I am and will be learning as long as I am breathing. I am tolerant and strife to be kind, always. Please be kind in return and help me to become the best person I can.
FREE SPEECH today: Everyone is totally free to say absolutely anything that the government likes.
No one will do for you what you need to do for yourself. #stoicism #life #philosophy
I’m all for recycling - but when it comes to opinions, I’d rather use my own.

The words “content creators” really depress me. What a soulless, corporate expression. It reduces what you make to “content” to be consumed. It reduces what you do to a business practice. It invisibilises all the specificity of your work.

You are making video? You are not a “content creator”, you are a videographer.
You are writing essays? You are not a “content creator”, you are an essayist.
You are investigating and compiling information? You are not a “content creator”, you are a journalist.

Despite entering hospice care over a year ago, Jimmy Carter refuses to miss an election.

At 99 years of age, the former president cast a mail-in ballot for the May primary election this week, grandson Jason Carter said Wednesday on The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Monica Pearson Show.
“He’s not going to miss an election!” the younger Carter said. “It’s important to him. I mean, that’s the person he is.”
Jason Carter said he confided in his grandfather last weekend that he’s never sure how to respond when asked how the former president is doing.
“He kind of laughed a little bit, and he looked at me, and he said: ‘I don’t know myself,’” Jason Carter said. “But I think he’s OK.
You know, he’s hanging in there, and he knows he’s not in charge. So he’s just waiting for what’s next.”
Over the past year, Jimmy Carter celebrated his 99th birthday in October and attended the annual peanut festival.
He entered hospice care in his hometown of Plains, Georgia, just over a year ago. He also mourned the loss of his wife, former first lady Rosalynn Carter, who passed away last November at age 96.

Is it just me or are a LOT of artists physically incapable of following other people on this platform?

I've muted SO many artists who use Mastodon as a one-way ticket to achieve Reach I’m literally embarrassed *for* them.

Artists. Seriously. Why would anyone bother to follow you here if you clearly aren’t present? "Drop and Dash" is dead!

Those days of social media are over. Now it’s about Connection, not Reach. Especially with AI.

Stop thinking everyone is just a consumer. Do better.

The problem with building a closed social network is that it sets up an all or nothing premise for users. They might like some of the signature features but they'll leave if there's not enough people to network with. That's a shame and a huge barrier to innovation and new social products.

The #fediverse changes that forever. People can now use the features they like from a mix of apps across a common network of people. This means we can take a whole new approach to how "social" and "media" should work including discovery, user experience and monetization that will be far healthier than anything we've had in the past.
