The rule about bot accounts has been changed, and I have added a section clarifying how the rules here affect expectations of Content Warning use due to recent "discourse" and repeated questions by people confused about what is permitted.
I finally tracked down the issues with displaying the Getting Started tab to a typo when merging in the latest update!
It looks like this update also deactivated some of the theme customization, which is aggravating, but I'll be working on that over the next week.
Everything is working again now and I apologize again for all the recent downtime!
For those of you who have recently joined: I realize this is making a terrible impression and I deeply regret it. 🙃 I promise, this place is USUALLY very reliably available.
On a positive note, we are now current with the latest security patch for mastodon.
A recent attempt by Yours Truly, @InspectorCaracal, to improve a minor element of the security of the web server had the completely unanticipated side-effect of making my mastodon server completely inaccessible to the web server.
There are still some issues, such as the Navigation column appearing to be inoperable, but I am working on fixing these now.
This is a small instance with a moderation team of two: the admin (me) and one mod, @Heliodora - so please help us out by reporting ANYTHING you see that you think MIGHT break the rules! It's a lot easier to sift through a couple dozen reports than a day's worth of toots, and we can't see everything.

The rules are pretty minimal, here. You can read them by clicking the House icon and "More About the Planet", but they boil down to: don't spam and don't be an asshole.
The Globe icon will show you public toots by your fellow Planeteers, while the Rocketship is by the parts of the federation we're connected to.

Huzzah, some good news!
🔸 Columns in desktop view now have that nice spacing around them again, but without the annoying padding at the top and the bottom of the screen.
🔸 The floating compose button on mobile view is gone again, finally.
🔸 Stars are yellow again!
🔸 I've cleaned up the Home menu a bit and renamed it from 'Getting Started' to 'Navigation'
🔸 The Compose column in desktop view has a maximum width, to work better with 1 or fewer pinned columns.
I have added a Silence to switter.at due to repeated reports of unwanted sexual solicitation.
