If Musk could arrange it, he'd have it told that he himself was the first to harness electricity. Unfortunately for him there is just still too much 100+ YO history of electricity and electrical devices... for the moment.
Such is the man's ego, in his mind nothing can be "balanced" or 'fair' unless he controls it.
