Just finished the third and final volume of Cixin Liu's Three Body Problem trilogy. A deep dive into "hard science fiction", and a sweeping, humbling, sometimes terrifying view of humanity's place in the universe. And yet, not without hope ... sort of. 😄 The kind of books that will stay with me.

@chargrille You've identified one of the main reasons I made use of Twitter through the years, the access to real journalists and real journalism. I keep hoping to find another forum that journalists are moving to in large numbers. Mastodon? CounterSocial? I'm active on both these sites now, but I'm not finding anywhere near the volume of journalists I found on Twitter, many of whom seem to be staying there. I'd love to know if there's somewhere else I can find them. Thoughts?

This GOP "well regulated militia," has this month alone killed people for:
•Sitting in the wrong car
•Knocking on wrong door
•Turning into wrong driveway
•Attending the wrong birthday party
•Basketball rolls into the wrong lawn
•Asking the wrong neighbor to let your baby sleep
One day after quoting MLK on MLK Day, Florida MAGA Gov Ron DeSantis cancels AP African American Studies Program, saying it ‘Lacks Educational Value’
This is literally white supremacist talking points & a reminder how much these people still hate MLK today.
Indeed, DeSantis banning AP African American Studies is a reminder of that old quote -- White privilege is when your history is the curriculum and every other history is an elective.
