I've gotta also say, it's really interesting some of the different takes the game has on the Mario formula. Some probably due to platform limitations, but lots of little things. The fireball being a bouncing projectile, the use of hearts as 1up rather than green mushroom, turtles exploding after jumping on them.

Bought a few Game Boy carts recently, and just finished Super Mario Land on my Analogue Pocket! It was funny to complete a game I'd known so much about in my childhood, but never reached the end of.

And the music is just awesome.
