people tend to forget their grievances with corporations once the new shinny thing appears.
case in point, this is already happening once again with the rumored succesor of the switch. many people suddenly forgive nintendo even if a day ago they literally were rightfully upset of what they did in many cases over how they handle copyright protection.
and i have other grievances with them too; like how they exploit and abuse their workers, how they got away with promoting a misogynistic enviroment and culture inside it for years (while pretending to be one of the good apples during the gamergate bullshit), literally getting away with using foxxcon factories which are known of some serious human rights violations, etc...
are people just quick to forget?
i know that ultimately there's that whole argument that we can't consume ethically in a capitalistic realm..... but i want to point out that we can change the enviroment that makes this bullshit a reality we have to deal with by standing against the people and corporations that exploit and abuse us among with so many others...
if we just sit, do nothing and continue participating in the game like nothing happened.... nothing will change. we need to fight as a gigantic collective to make those corporations like nintendo bleed if we want actual change.
