I help people make websites (Typescript, React, AWS serverless). Find myself fiddling with little side projects in my spare time. Pine endlessly for the pre-BigTech web.

Play guitar with little skill or discipline. Streak runner on injury-driven hiatus. #ncfc supporter. Pretentious film watcher. Spend too much time in the Tools For Thought space, but seem to always return to Roam Research and Zettelkasten.

I object to #TheTraitorsUncloaked describing itself as a “podcast”. Not because it’s visual. Podcasts are downloadable and linked to from RSS feeds.

BBC Sounds is walled garden, empire building bullshit.

Yes, this is entirely unfair and judgemental. Especially given that I only ever record audio. But that's obviously to hide the ways my eyes cross any time I play a half diminished chord.

I consume a lot of jazz guitar forum material (r/jazzguitar, some cohort learning circles) - there seems to be an unwritten rule that when you film yourself playing jazz on the guitar it needs to look like you're either going through some level or euphoria not experienced before or taking a shit.

one of my favourite Halloween discoveries was the Creep franchise.

Tonight we watched first couple of Creep Tapes on Shudder - happy to see the format works just as well with these little “snapshots” - letting Mark Duplass continue on with his daftness in fun new ways.
