mysteries are contrived by nature! mysteries are less about character development! mysteries are full of "useless" characters who are just extra suspects and guess what if you dont like the pace information was revealed that's actually the ENTIRE MECHANISM OF STORY in a mystery!! it is seriously not that deep and most if not all mystery stories fall apart if you hold them to the expectations of other more character-driven types of stories
