Found my way here, let's see what I can do. :)

Interested in light chatting about world events, Australian politics, and a bunch of other random topics.

Also I strongly suspect posting inappropriate and smart-ass humor might be my new thing too.

Bird site refugee late 2022, no plans to return. Things are much better here!

@ShinyObjects Scare campaign and misinformation across media and led by political parties and their sponsors. We are greatly diminished today
@NeilJrm We most certainly are. I had thought we would rise above. Thankyou for sharing your thoughts.
I'm saddened by the referendum result for the #Voice . It was informed, there was significant consultation, it took nothing away from anyone, and offered constitutional recognition to our local indigenous population, which they are well-overdue. It didn't overreach and left the specific composition and function to the government of the day. Did the scare campaign just beat everyone down? Definitely a lost opportunity.
I also suspect that #Twitter's renaming to X might be so that they can take future signs down faster before someone calls the cops on them.

Allowing #Twitter to take down "twitt" from their sign but leaving the "er" is basically building management saying that they're fine if Twitter chooses to take down the twit in Twitter.

And for that we'd all be better off.

@woodsbythesea This is actually a really good thread. There are a lot of very clever people out there with a great sense of humor. :)
@stefh Any time, I hope it helps!

Turns out that Musk has a thing for the X Windows System with his new #Twitter logo. Also did he just annex a 40-year-old logo?

@chessert Sometimes a warning is a warning, and sometimes it is an invitation. ;) I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
@stefh If you need a starting point, total up all the time you spent on it, consider you getting paid at a contractor's rate, and multiply by eight (not every project is successful). This will be a big number. Then work from there, up or down, until you find a number that makes you feel you've got a good deal. Give them that figure and don't bargain, just say that's the price. Then you'll be happy, sale or no sale.
