Industrial/EBM DJ "raid train" on twitch this weekend

A “raid train” is basically a sequence of streamers, the audience just go from one streamer to the next.

This weekend there’s a “rivethead” raid train happening on twitch:

Rivetheads are fans of industrial and post-industrial music, particularly genres like electro-industrial, electronic body music (EBM), and industrial rock. They are a subculture that emerged in the late 1980s, associated with a specific style of music that is danceable and song-oriented, often considered “post-industrial”. Rivethead culture often features a visual aesthetic with themes of dystopia, technology, and industrial imagery.

What to expect: Industrial & EBM: Electro-Industrial, Dark Electro, Industrial Rock, Rhythmic Noise, EBM, New Beat, Techno Body Music, Aggrotech, Industrial Bass, Industrial Techno…

Twitch is a corporate platform proceeding along the enshittification cycle. Basically they have occasional ads which are difficult to block, but I just take off my headphones at those times. I’m familiar with 3-4 of the DJs starting around 9pm Saturday and they’re worth checking out. Anyway check this page out over the weekend, you should be able to see it thru here: (correcton: https://raidpal.com/en/event/rivethead-ebm-industrial-raid-train)

Fine-tuning the font a bit…

Maybe the problem is the contrast of black on grey. Check out the first paragraph of the following, is it better?

tiny text

ya know, it’s funny, I hadn’t noticed. My eyesight isn’t that great, so I’m so used to enlarging images that I guess I just did it without thinking.

Check this out, I scaled it and sharpened slightly, is it any better?

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974 2160p, links in post) - Mastodon watch party this Sunday evening!

I usually post these on [email protected], but this is another non-B-movie showing! The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1974) is the movie for this Sunday’s “monsterdon” watch party over on Mastodon, our fediverse sibling!

  • Just start watching that movie this Sunday, Mar 22 at 9pm ET / 8pm CT / 6pm PT which is 1am Monday UTC
  • and follow #monsterdon over on mastodon for live text commentary. For example, you can follow that hashtag here: https://mastodon.social/tags/monsterdon
  • I usually open two web browser windows side-by-side on a computer. But you could follow the mastodon commentary on a phone app while watching the movie on TV or something.
  • it’s usually streamed on https://miru.miyaku.media/ at that time

The film follows the story of Captain Sinbad ([John Philip] Law) as he embarks on a dangerous quest to find the Fountain of Destiny after discovering a magical golden amulet. Joined by a vizier and a slave girl ([Caroline] Munro), he must battle the evil sorcerer Koura ([Tom] Baker) and mythical creatures to unlock the amulet’s powers before Koura can use them for evil.

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad premiered on 25 December 1973 and received generally positive reviews from critics, who praised its stop-motion effects [by Ray Harryhausen] and fantastical adventure elements; however, some critics noted flaws in the storyline and character development. Commercially, the film emerged as a box-office success, grossing over $11 million worldwide against a budget of approximately $982,351. Moreover, it won the first Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film.[3]

I don’t dislike their music, it just doesn’t do it for me.

I feel the same way about Twiztid and the rest of the Psychopathic artists. They’re OK, but I don’t go out of my way to listen to them. With ICP, some songs are better than others (as is true of all musicians) but the best ones are great in heavy rotation, and most of their albums are at least half full of good songs.

Shishi’s throw off that grip wasn’t enough … Came down to a double throw attempt but Tobi came out on top as he fell out of the ring.

That’s why I think Shishi is doing so much better. Sure he lost, but it credibly could have gone either way.

Kiri - Oho,

“am I yusho yet?”
