When the profit motive doesn't align with the goal, then that system should never be for profit and should be run by a government institution with oversight.
Healthcare gets profits from sick people. Society wants & needs healthy people - goals don't align.
Schools get profits from enrolling the most students. Children learn best in smaller classrooms - goals don't align.
Prisons make money with more prisoners. Society wants people to reform & stop committing crimes - goals don't align.
Easy to determine what should be market driven & what shouldn't.

This week the House GOP leadership—by way of their 30 member GOP Steering Committee--made their selections for chairs of the 17 House committees. Did they pick people who stood up for democracy against Donald Trump’s attempted coup? Stop laughing. Of course not.
My favorite quote for today:
“I do not think, sir, you have any right to command me, merely because you are older than I, or because you have seen more of the world than I have; your claim to superiority depends on the use you have made of your time and experience.”

I have been asked how a person might show proper respect for a veteran. OK.
1) Show up at the Veterans Day Parade or Memorial Day Ceremony. Be present. That's respect. Backyard BBQ? Not so much.
2) Learn the difference between Veterans, Memorial, and Armed Forces Days. "Happy Memorial Day" is not cool.
3) Stop assuming veterans are all one thing. We are YOU, in every respect.
4) Veteran-adjacent isn't veteran. You served or you didn't. You're not less valuable either way.
