Making my rare appearance here to share my new (to me) car: A 1990 Miata I have nicknamed Peppy.

I went through 2 weeks of stress, anxiety and just all around sacrafices of 80% of my nerd possessions to get her. The fact that I was able to gater up close to 10k to get her astonds me, but I really do see her not only as a turning point in my life, but also as a reclaiming of the Miata I had more than a decade ago.

It does suck that a deer hit her on the side literally 30 minutes after I drove her off the lot, but luckily it just requires a replacement of the fender and that's it.

But yeah, she's been an absolute blast to drive and it just feels good to finally have a daily driver I vibe with as oppose to being bored af with

Im currently going about a major shift in my life and trying to focus on getting my goals out of the way as quickly as I can. As such, I have my kofi up.

Ive been trying to get myself away from Twitter again lately, and while there's some aspects that make it easy to get away from it, others... not so much.

I figured for the news from the corporate social media accounts, I could just follow on bluesky or instagram. But some seem to be persistent on staying on Twitter even with Bluesky as a better option (I'm looking at you especially Yetee).

The other issue is the for you tab. While that tab can get pretty damn bad in the doomscrolling department, sometimes I can find some really nice tweets there. Unfortunately, Bluesky's is nowhere near as robust as theirs and the same can go for this site's too.

I keep finding myself going back there as such, but Ive been trying to at least take things one step at a time regardless by at least not posting there, and... you know, at this rate, I'm practically convinced that site is never going to die off. Muskrat could literally start becoming a 1/1 carbon copy of Hitler and people will still be using it.

But all I can do I guess is keep trying to do what Im doing for now and hope maybe it'll turn the way of Myspace like everyone has been claiming it will turn into for the past 12 months.

... oh, and also, no, still not using this platform often. Again, only 5 of my friends are on this platform

Up to chapter 8 of listening to the audio book of The Hobbit. I feel like this is a long overdue thing I needed to do to keep my nerd license.

So far, I'm liking it! Gandalf is a bit more of a douche than I thought he'd be. I'm assuming maybe that gets explained a bit further into the book though.

Also Beorn is easily my favorite character in this book so far. Dude takes no bs and he's got like several dozen animal companions.
