We are back
John ShirleyIt seems to me that music temporarily changes our relationship to time; it reconciles us with time’s disintegration of form. Because it's saying: it's okay, go with this, and feel it. Music is a proposition--any given composition is proposing a condition, is persuading you to go with it, to accept a state of mind. The offered state, though it uses time, takes us outside of time.
