I teach REAPER and am support monkey for OSARA.
Accessibility pusher. Code rookie.
Spend a fair bit of time producing/mixing/mastering audio, mostly music.
Uncle to 6 rats/1 human, mostly popular with the rats.
Have done standup and co-hosted a podcast before. Sometimes, I make empty threats about starting to do both again.
If either happens, rest assured you'll be the last to know.

With REAPER 7.40, you might have noticed that playing your projects isn't possible anymore when you're in the OSARA Parameters dialogs.
An OSARA update is ready with a fix. As a bonus, now you can play using Space when focus is on the sliders, you don't need to remember to use Control+Space to hear results anymore.
Control+Space also works to play/pause in those dialogs now, pausing moves your edit cursor, useful if you want to cue up a different part of the project to hear the adjustments you're making in context.

Shout outs to Toni and Jamie for much help with many scary code.

It's 07:45AM and I'm in the System Environment Variables GUI, rearranging everything on my path into alphabetical order.

Top tip from a group today: so you want your drums to sound wider? Oh sure. Well you could duplicate the track and do stuff on the extra track. Or make a receive. Yeah I'm sure that's right, you could do stuff to it.

If you use REAPER/Kontakt8 and you'd like a well produced free drum kit that's probably best suited to rock/metal, I've hacked around a limitation of Krimh Drums Free from Bogren Digital and made multi-out track templates. There are 12 drum maps so I've saved a template for each of those. These come up nicely balanced and ready to play straight away, with all the MIDI going to an armed track and the individual microphones routed out for mixing. Just pop open the drum bus folder to work on the individual microphones if you want to rebalance 'em or do more processing.

Hope it's useful!

I'm re-launching my original version of ReaKontrol, a #REAPER extension to integrate with #Komplete Kontrol keyboards, now with support for S-series Mk3 keyboards. It doesn't have some of the visual feedback or other features of the Brummbrum fork, so if you need those things, this is not for you at this stage. A bit under a year ago, my friend Michael Sheppard and I released our first album. I'm super excited to present our second album, Toward Hope.

Hey FreakyFwoof@universeodon.com, can you test this build of ReaKontrol on your Mac with MK3? Need confirmation of whether it's working so Jamie can merge these changes.

Just realised I missed a detail. I said TBird pisses me off when I'm reading email. It annoys me when I'm writing them, too.
Thunderbird is one of the many - fast becoming one of the main - reasons that reading email makes me want to crawl into a small hole and stay there for longtime. Do you use something else that's accessible on Windows with NVDA? If you do and you like what you use, please tell me about it.
Note: I already have the Thunderbird+G5 add-on and already have things as stripped back as I can get them, but using this thing still feels like I'm trying to sprint in quicksand.
