I just published an article on how to create an area plot in Swift Charts that shows UV index throughout the day and dims values up to the current point in time inspired by the iOS Weather app.

The post can be found on my blog: https://nilcoalescing.com/blog/AreaChartWithADimmingLayer/

Area chart with a dimming layer up to the current point in time

Create a chart with the Swift Charts framework to show UV index throughout the day inspired by the iOS Weather app that dims the area up to the current time.

A lot of Swift programming is building cathedral constructs to please the compiler, less of the substance of the solving the actual product problem to solve 🧐
@Sanguish Sad that they see "doing something" as exclusively meaning "feeding an algorithm" or "generating attention." Sometimes I just wanna give an internet person a hug or high-five without sharing the post with everyone who follows me!

People keep saying “likes don’t matter because only the author sees them”

I’m seeing other people’s likes and it means something.

@bigzaphod @Sanguish some number of servers (I have only specifically seen 1, but don't really have a good grasp of the actual scope) have been discussing defederating from the big open servers due to a lack of moderation quality.
With mastodon.social being isolated later this week, what’s a good server?
Sigh, so disabling content warnings in the web client doesn’t shut them off in the mastodon client. So user hostile.
@Sanguish "Bots and Sock Puppets" is a fantastic band name.

How do you turn off all content warnings? They seem to be used far too liberally

Like why a picture of a dog? Or a restaurant review? Just why?

@sk this is a very cool domain. 😂
