We've been accidentally geoengineering for decades...but then we stopped:

SO2 actually (very temporarily) cools things down by seeding clouds and creating sulfuric acid aerosols. That's not, like, /good/, but by making more clouds (and also decreasing the size of droplets in clouds, and thus increasing their number) more sunlight is reflected to space.... #climate

Wow, just wow. The planet is breaking.

Antarctic sea ice extent. There was actually a net *decrease* in ice extent day over day, and it's mid-winter there, peak freeze season.

North Atlantic has warmed in one year by about the same amount as during the past 15 years. Rate of warming over the past 15 years was already crazy.

Who should 'own' magazines? Federated infrastructure but user sovereignty: a “third way” between federated and P2P networks?

Have you had any bad experiences with people on Kbin yet? Can we do better than Reddit culture?

However, when reddit crapped the bed, by comparison, the threadiverse basically didn’t have an established culture. There was a handful of lemmy instances (we were one of them), but the only one of notable size was lemmy.ml. kbin didn’t even exist in any meaningful way until a couple of months before reddit died.... #kbinMeta
